Slideshows made easy with animoto.com

We created the video with Mrs. Bjork in my STA class with the photo sharing site animoto.com. I want to create a Harour View video with pictures of the staff members reading over the summer. Please send me your photos at tracy.chinn@marion.k12.fl.us. Throughout the year, I will create slideshows of different events and activities around the school to share on my blog. Technology is very exciting!!!!!

Book Recommendations

Teachers and students,
This is your media center. Have you seen any books lately that you would like me to purchase. I purchase new materials each year. Leave a comment if you have any suggestions.

Video Production Club

Fourth and fifth grade students are invited to be part of our Video Production Club. Any students who are interested must apply at the beginning of the school year. All applicants will be interviewed and have an audition. The club meets on Monday afternoons from 2:05 - 3:30. Video Production Club (VPC) students are responsible for morning announcements. You must be able to arrive at school by 7:20 to prepare for announcements. Members of the VPC create original videos. They learn to write, storyboard, film, act out, and edit. Students create videos in the fields of documentary, instructional, comedy, drama, news, music video and PSA. The videos that are created are shown to the school and entered in the Marion County Media Festival. In 2008-2009, we entered 9 videos. We have 4 first place entries; HVE News, Responsibility, Zombies Attack, and Continents and Oceans. Responsibility also won "Best in Show".

Be a member of the 2009-2010 Book Bowl Team

If you read at least 13 of the 15 Sunshine State books, you can apply to be a member of the Book Bowl Team. Our school team competes against other elementary school teams. Last year's team worked very hard and did a great job. We were in the top 4 schools in the entire county. This year, we hope to be number one!!!!! Will you be one of the awesome team members this year?
